Shipping Policy
We work hard to ensure your order arrives quickly and safely. Most shipments reach their destination without issue, but successful delivery depends on accurate information, carrier performance, and timely recipient action. This policy explains how shipping works and what to expect.
How Wonk Press Ships Orders
Orders are fulfilled by our trusted shipping partners. Most orders ship within 48 hours, excluding weekends. Orders placed from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening typically ship the following Monday.
Occasionally, holidays, severe weather, or large multi-book orders may extend processing time slightly. If that happens, your order will ship as soon as possible.
If your order contains multiple items and one or more are out of stock, we will hold the order until all items are available before dispatch.
Tracking Information
When your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details.
Please note that Wonk Press has access to the same tracking information you do. For delivery changes, instructions, or carrier-specific questions, contacting the carrier directly is the fastest way to get assistance.
Returns
Books in their original, undamaged condition may be returned. Please contact us before sending anything back so we can provide instructions.
Once the returned item is received and inspected, we’ll issue a refund for the purchase price of the book if no damage is found. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Damaged Books
If your order arrives damaged, please keep the packaging and contact us as soon as possible. Photos of the damage are very helpful and allow us to determine the best resolution, which may include a replacement or refund.
If an insurance claim is required, we may ask for photos showing:
- The damaged item (full view and close-up)
- The shipping box (full view and close-up)
- All internal packing materials
Delivery Estimates
Delivery options such as “2-Day Shipping” reflect the carrier’s estimated transit time after the package has been handed off. During busy periods, actual delivery times may take longer.
Once a shipment is with the carrier, delivery timing is outside our control, and Wonk Press cannot guarantee carrier performance.
Economy options such as USPS Media Mail are cost-effective but slower, especially during peak seasons. If faster delivery is important, we recommend selecting a non-economy option at checkout.
Customer Responsibilities
Most delivery issues happen after a package leaves our hands. A few simple steps can help ensure everything goes smoothly.
Accurate Shipping Information
Please provide a complete and correct shipping address, including apartment numbers or other required details. Incorrect or incomplete information can delay delivery or result in additional carrier charges.
If a carrier (including USPS, UPS, or other delivery services) determines that an address is insufficient, invalid, or undeliverable and returns the package to us, Wonk Press is not responsible for the return or any related delays. Any additional shipping costs required to reship the order will be the responsibility of the customer.
If extra shipping costs are incurred due to address issues, those costs may need to be covered by the customer.
Parcel Forwarding Services
Parcel forwarding services may reduce shipping costs, but they are used entirely at the customer’s risk. Wonk Press is not responsible for delays, loss, damage, or refusal of delivery by forwarding services.
Monitoring Your Shipment
Tracking details are emailed when your order ships. You may also receive notifications for delivery updates, delays, or confirmation of delivery.
We recommend monitoring these messages and contacting the carrier promptly if action is needed. If you’re unable to resolve an issue after contacting the carrier, feel free to reach out to us at sales@wonkpress.com.
Monitoring International Shipments
International carriers may contact recipients regarding customs clearance, address verification, or delivery attempts. Please ensure your contact information is accurate and that messages from the carrier are addressed promptly.
If further assistance is required, recipients must contact the carrier’s local office directly, as Wonk Press cannot intervene with international carrier operations.
Delivery Attempts and Access Issues
A package is considered delivered when delivery is confirmed by the carrier’s tracking system. At that point, responsibility for the shipment transfers to the recipient.
Delivery to a carrier-designated access point is also considered delivery under carrier tracking. Customers are responsible for retrieving packages from these locations.
Wonk Press cannot be responsible for delivery delays or failures caused by:
- Restricted or inaccessible delivery locations
- Gated buildings or locked entrances
- Missed delivery attempts when a signature is required
- Recipient unavailability at the time of delivery
Theft, Shared Mailrooms, and Communal Delivery Locations
Once a carrier confirms delivery, responsibility for the package transfers to the recipient. Unfortunately, we can’t be responsible for theft or loss after delivery.
Shared mailrooms and communal mailboxes carry a higher risk of misplacement. If you choose one of these delivery options, we recommend closely monitoring tracking updates and retrieving your package promptly.
Customs, Duties, and Taxes (International Orders)
Wonk Press ships from both the United States and the United Kingdom. When orders cross borders, local customs authorities may assess import duties or VAT.
Where possible, we collect duties and VAT at checkout. For EU shipments, we use the IOSS system to minimize delays and additional charges.
If duties or VAT are not collected at checkout, the shipment is sent Delivered at Place (DAP). In these cases, the recipient is responsible for paying any required fees before delivery. If fees are not paid, the carrier may refuse delivery or return the shipment. Refunds cannot be issued in these situations.
