Very happy with book & recipes!
Beautifully produced with information on various aspects of drink making as well as a nice variety of tasty recipes from all over that are not the standard canon. (Except for the riffs by bartenders on classics reimagined).
Absolutely stunning!!!
Really good and accessible, mostly, recipes. Tons of excellent information and written super well!
Every page in Matt and Carrie's book is thoughtfully written. The ones containing photos will make you thirsty, very thirsty! What differentiates this book from others I've read is that Matt and Carrie, while paying proper homage to the classics, give contemporary mixologists/proprietors (almost) equal time by featuring many of their very compelling recipes and establishments. These folks are raising the bar, seriously!
The book gets a 5-star rating from me overall, but, and I hate to sound so nit-picky, there are a few typos, inaccurate footnoting, and formatting issues. They're not that big a deal, but Matt is about as detail oriented a rum authority as I have ever listened to, so these glitches were surprising. They are all editing issues, however. The content, photos and scope are all wonderful. Enjoy! :)
Thanks for the very kind words! Regarding the typos, there certainly were a few in earlier printings, but we figured we'd stomped out just about everything by now. Feel free to shoot me an email with what you've found and we'll look at fixing them in a subsequent printing!
